BEHF Architects has created a new Retail Centre PADO Galleries next to the PADO shopping Park to complete a retail arena in Parndorf.

Together with its client Erlinger Immobilien, BEHF Architects has developed the PADO Galleries, a highly attractive retail centre built next to the PADO Shopping Park to complete the arena. With the neighbouring McArthurGlen designer outlet frequented by millions of customers a year, the property offers a unique and highly marketable location.

The PADO Galleries provide around 21,000 square metres of rentable space for about 30 shops. The architects have created a pleasant, clearly organised atmosphere in the interior. The tenant mix includes numerous high-quality brands. The highlight of the PADO Galleries and PADO Shopping Park is an outstanding food court. On 32,000 square metres in total, customers not only find an array restaurants, but also a spacious covered outdoor terrace with an event area and a large animated water surface. This synergy between shopping and gastronomy gives the project a special flair and creates a unique experience for visitors. Additionally, 800 partially shaded parking spaces are available.

The chosen architectural language has resulted in a practical U-shaped design with a cantilevered canopy that enables visitors to get dry-shod from one shop to another. Irregular openings in the canopy allow daylight to reach the terrace floor and create a playful atmosphere. Painted in a striking red colour, the canopy plays an important role in making the centre attractive and inviting along the busy highway.
