Bespoke design for demanding palates
Guests of the five-toque restaurant Konstantin Filippou in Vienna enjoy the comfort of exclusively designed seating furniture. The armchairs designed by Austrian designer Martin Mostböck in close collaboration with celebrity chef Konstantin Filippou catch the eye: dark wood, black leather and brass combine to create a stylish whole. “An international gourmand should recognize that the chair is on the same level as our food, drinks and the people who work here. The ‘Konstantin chair’ is an important part of the big picture”, says top chef Konstantin Filippou about his expectations. “We wanted something that is reduced, comfortable and with great attention to details. The result is an angular design with subtle curves that pays tribute to Japanese influences and is a homage to Viennese modernism at the same time. After all, we are neighbors of Otto Wagner’s Postsparkasse”, explains the Viennese with Greek roots. “We are very happy, the armchair makes the dining space clearer and airier. Our guests spend up to five hours sitting on it that is why it plays one of the most important parts and needs to be able to satisfy everyone’s wishes.”
