Location
Albert-Einstein-Straße 2, 18059 Rostock, Germany
Year
2009 -

We aim to create a campus where students and teachers have optimal use of the green pockets between buildings. The first courtyard in the west of the area is designed as formal entrance plaza, which together with the library court form the start of the campus promenade. Spatial extensions from the promenade between building facades create smaller individual places. The colorful multifunctional benches used as workplaces or meeting points are a visual introduction to the inner courtyards. Existing trees are preserved and joined by new ones. In the courtyards, a variety of tree types with different types of blossoms are orchestrated to bloom at different times of the year. The constantly changing scenery sets a spectacular new backdrop for circulation, relaxation and communication.
