This office is located in a majestic two-hundred-year old building in the heritage Fort precinct of Mumbai. Its design expresses a poetic tryst between the old and new.
The new functions are accommodated in a mezzanine floor inserted along one edge of the space to maintain the original grandness of the space. The old shell has been restored through careful cleaning to reveal the original Minton tile flooring and the natural grain of the wooden shutters.
The primary material used is particleboard. The monochromatic severity of this material is softened by an inspired composition of sharp solid forms in beige with offsets in wood and glass.
