The Mercedes-Benz Museum Stuttgart set standards for brand museums as it interweaves past and present of the car manufacturer with the cultural and political history of Germany, the origin of the brand. In an extensive chronicle that leads through myth rooms and collections the car exhibits are in the foreground, telling the story of motorised mobility from its invention until today. hg merz architekten museumsgestalter was commissioned before the architecture competition to curate the development of the museum.
