Spiral Booths

Conceived as a space for fiction and performance for the exhibition “1:1 Architects Build Small Spaces" (Victoria & Albert Museum, summer 2010), Spiral Booths works as a vertical theater where the stage was fragmented and piled up as six micro-stages connected by a spiral. The performances were presented by six different theater companies from London throughout the exhibition. Using the landscape of the museum as a test site, “Architects Build Small Spaces” examines notions of refuge and retreat in seven structures built around the V&A, all of them selected out of 19 proposals submmited by international cutting-edge architects. Spiral Booths is part of a long research by Vazio S/A on urban voids, the body, events and art performances.
